ANOTHER MYSTERY FOR YOU.
WHO WAS HE?
Mrs J was found dead in her room, the door locked on the outside. The key was found placed on a table after a frantic search had been made for it.
There was only one suspect who had been noticed leaving the room by Mrs J’s teen daughter. The suspect (male) had stayed overnight with Mrs J.
After examining Mrs J’s lifeless body, I became interested in the Story which had the following peculiarities:
1.The Door was locked on the outside and the key placed on a table.
2.There was a mystery man at large who Mrs J’s daughter could recognise .
3. Mrs J’s husband was away.
4. The death occurred in Mrs J’s husband’s house.
5. There was no immediate evidence of a traumatic death.
MY QUESTIONS.
1. Who was the mystery man, and what was their relationship?
2. If he had to kill her, why did he do it in her husband’s house?
3. Why was the key placed where it could be found?
4. Did the daughter know more than she claimed?
5. Could the murder have been premeditated?
6. Was It Suicide?
7. WHAT SHOULD BE THE HUSBAND’S REACTION?

I suspect The Husband. He could have staged his "travel" and returned incognito killed her and left again.

Oh a mystery indeed!
1. Who was the mystery man, and what was their relationship?
We have only the daughter’s word that a man was in the house – is she telling the truth?
2. If he had to kill her, why did he do it in her husband's house?
See above (1) and if indeed Mrs J was murdered by another man other than her husband – why not (passion or other emotions do not fit geographical norms)?
3. Why was the key placed where it could be found?
This could suggest an automatic placing of the key by a family member – daughter perhaps, husband maybe (but would he have not (automatically) taken ‘his’ key with him when leaving the house)…and why would he have locked the room door?
4. Did the daughter know more than she claimed?
Probably… Was the mystery man leaving the house the daughter’s lover, had her mother come across them and angry scene led to murder…?
5. Could the murder have been premeditated?
Perhaps – but was it murder? (“There was no immediate evidence of a traumatic death.”)
Were other circumstances involved – mothers heart attack following discovery of daughter and lover causing panic and ensuing irrational ‘cover-up’ of events? Etc.
6. Was It Suicide?
Could be – but then how would have the key been placed outside of locked room? Suicide or natural death ‘covered’ by guilty daughter (for reasons as mused above) or daughter and or husband finding her in a ‘dying state’ and for their own reasons desiring her death. Locking the door locking away their guilt…
7. WHAT SHOULD BE THE HUSBAND'S REACTION?
Disbelief, sorrow, anguish, anger, guilt (for being away) and a questioning of the scenario. (But if he no longer loved her (and hadn’t killed her) the aforementioned plus slight relief.
