3. Doctors race and fall over themselves to welcome any new casualty.
4. There is always an operating theatre available.
5. The hospital is always clean.
6. Doctors have fancy offices.
7. Nurses and doctors have excellent relationships.
8. Doctors always smile to patients.
9. Doctors are particularly good looking (totally agree).
10. Blood is always immediately available.
11. No matter what time of night you call a doctor, he is always fresh and fully energized.
12. Doctors live a stone throw from the hospital and can be available within five minutes of any emergency.
13. The worst and most complex, tongue twisting diagnosis is usually the most likely.
14. Doctors worry about their patients when they get home and usually stay up thinking about them.
But are these true?
It's interesting you put a picture of Scrubs here. I love Scrubs! I also work as a (pretend) nurse in a UK medical drama. You are right. We're always falling over ourselves to greet new casualties. Well, in our pretend world anyway.
Really! Would look out for you on tv 🙂
House is definitely my favourite!
In UK hospital dramas there are so many nurses it is if they are bred on the ward at will.
Unfortunately in real life it is just the opposite – too few.
Regrettably the general public believe TV dramas to be true…
Anna :o]
Yes Anna, the general public expect things to be exactly as it is on tv. Wish it were so easy.
You had me giggling until #12.
…unfortunately (or I guess, fortunately if you are the patient), we do live a stone throw from the hospital. 🙁
Thank you YDW, i guess there are many advantages in a doctor living so close to the hospital (especially for the patients and hospital administrators).
